Your Conscious Mind is your Logical plus Analytical Mind, it is the part of your everyday attention where you mind is focused plus concentrating, the part that likes to plan, to calculate, to analyse, to evaluate. This is the part of the brain that educational establishments have pandered to for many decades. It is in effect left brain thinking. Educational subjects such as maths and science in particular are highly valued as subjects because of the emphasis on left brain thinking.
However, there's another part of your Mind, it is your Right Brain, or creative, imaginative mind, the Subconscious Mind. Educational establishments in general have played lip service to the development of the Right Brain, okay, they may make some space for music and art but that is about it, unless they specialise in these subjects.
One could call the Subconscious the Feeling Mind, the Intuitive Mind, in modern neuroscience the Conscious Mind would be synonymous with the Neocortex or the Frontal Parietal Lobes, the front brain hemispheres. The Subconscious would be synonymous with the Limbic System plus Primal Brain Stem, the so called Reptilian Brain.
The Subconscious is often termed especially within NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) the Unconscious Mind because it is everything one is not consciously aware of at any given time.
A simple example is whilst you read this you might not be aware of the hair on your head, or your left big toe, or the temperature in your left hand, not forgetting your right of course. However, as soon as I draw your awareness or attention there, you become consciously aware of what was there all along but was unconscious to you.
Your Subconscious Mind is powerful, so learn to use the wonderful powers of your imagination, visualisation and creativity plus concentration because the subconscious can concentrate on vividly imagining plus creating and projecting to bring about what you really desire.
Now of course one has to take action!! The driving force is not simply using one's powers of visualisation, imagination and creation without doing anything else. You have to take action on what you desire. Now that takes us to three very important concepts, which are:
Desire, Belief and Expectancy!!
Really desire what you want to create in your life, for example, stopping smoking, or getting rid of excess weight, or finding your dream job, or overcoming negative thinking etc.
Plan how you are going to put into plan a systematic way to get what you truly want. Seek out resources perhaps people, books, films as educational resources, even training events and courses. Develop your knowledge, your skills and experience and work on honing your skills.
You have to have a very firm resolve or a real strong belief that you can achieve what you truly desire, so see it, feel it, sense it and belief it. Your belief has to be so strong as sure as the sun comes up in the morning and sets at night, as strong as the sky is above and the earth is below, you get the picture do you not. Or maybe you can begin to really tune into what I am saying and get a handle as to how this could be useful knowledge for you, can you not?
Then expect it to happen, for example when you come home at night, you want light in your home, what do you do? You turn on the light by flicking the switch don't you. You fully believe the light will come on, you don't wait by the switch agonising over whether to flick it or not do you?? I most certainly hope not. So your expectancy must be as strong as that, no hesitancy, just do it!!
